Avoid the 7 Deadly Sins at all cost!
First of all, what are the 7 deadly sins? The 7 deadly sins are: pride, lust, gluttony, sloth, avarice, envy, and anger. They are to be avoided because they are the worse mortal sins around. These capital sins, if not avoided, confessed about immediately, and repented against, can lead a person to go to Hell if he/she happens to die suddenly. They are the source of all other mortal sins.
The Catholic Church teaches us that these terrible mortal sins destroy the life of grace within a person and thus creates the threat of eternal damnation. Mortal sin attacks charity and necessitates God's mercy and a conversion of heart by the person which is accomplished within the setting of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) with a priest in order to restore God's grace within us and to restore our relationship with God. Mortal sin separates us from God just as in Hell a person is separated from Him forever. According to Our Blessed Mother, when she appeared to the three children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917, more sinners go to Hell because of the mortal sins of lust and sins of the flesh than any other mortal sin. Therefore, it is in our best interest of our own soul and anyone else we may know who is committing these grave sins, to avoid these sins like the plague that they are. Even though we may know that others are openly committing these sins, we should still avoid them at all cost and try to convince those people that what they are doing is wrong in the sight of God. We should take care of our souls the way we take good care of our bodies because it is our soul that will live on forever either in Heaven or in Hell! |
Family Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart of Jesus We should dedicate our lives to God, Our Lord Jesus and to Our Blessed Mother because they watch over us daily. We owe everything to them for the care that they give us over our lives. Our Blessed Mother wants us to dedicate our lives to Jesus and to Her so that Our Blessed Mother may take any indulgence or merit we have gained and use it to the best interests of their Immaculate and Sacred Hearts. This is the prayer:
Eternal Father, in the Holy Spirit, I want to consecrate and commit myself and my family to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, to be more devoted and faithful children. Mother Mary, today we commit ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. Keep us under your maternal protection and lead us to your Son Jesus. Lord Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we consecrate and commit ourselves to your Sacred Heart. Make our hearts like your heart so that you will live in us forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, with this consecration and commitment we return to You the love you showed us in your earthly lives, especially on Calvary, and which you show us still today. At the same time, we renew our baptismal promises to the Triune God: we renounce sin, temptation of evil and the devil; we believe in everything that God has revealed to us and which the Catholic Church teaches us. We want to fulfill Jesus' commandment of love for God and love of neighbor, and the commandments of God and of the Church. In this way, we want to contribute to the unity and growth of the Church. We will personally pray the rosary and wear the scapular every day as Our Blessed Mother so often has requested for us to do. We will try our best to observe the devotion of the first Fridays and Saturdays, making reparation for our sins and sins of mankind. O Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, help us to accept the Gospel in our heart and to live it in faith, hope and love, that Jesus Christ will, through His cross and resurrection, become the Way, the Truth and the Life for us. May we be nourished on Heavenly Bread and live out the sacrifice of the Eucharist so that we will overcome every evil and always choose life. Full of trust, my family and I seek shelter in your loving hearts. Protect us from all dangers and after this earthly pilgrimage, take us to our eternal home in Heaven. Amen. |
