Living A Consecrated Single Life
What do you do if you do not feel called to the married life or to the religious life? There are some single Catholics who have been single most of their adult life and have been very happy. Perhaps these same single people do not feel happy in a dating environment either. There are millions of single Catholics now, due to the increase in divorces, since half of marriages end in divorce. When single Catholics decide that they will remain single all of their lives, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
It is possible for these single Catholics to live a consecrated single life when these same devoted and faithful single Catholics consciously consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order that the Lord Jesus, the Blessed Mother and the Heavenly Father can guide and protect them with their lives. Consecrated single Catholics must learn how to trust and rely on the Lord Jesus and on the Blessed Mother in their livelihood and lives. They must also try their best to live their lives with holiness, purity, innocence, courage, strength, determination, persistence, faithfulness to the Almighty Father, to the Lord Jesus and to the Blessed Mother despite whatever problems, trials and temptations to live a life contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church and contrary to the Commandments of God exists.
The current society is going in the wrong direction. There is evil all around nowadays and also there are many evil forces that are trying to cause division between the Catholic people and their Catholic faith. This is when it is vital that all Catholics learn to rely heavily on their Catholic faith and on the Lord Jesus and on the Blessed Mother. Heaven knows exactly what is going on and they are present for each Catholic and especially for all single Catholics. No matter what this current society is trying to push on the Catholic people of faith and on the single Catholics, it is important to resist fully and to rely and trust in the Lord Jesus and have confidence in the Blessed Mother for everything. It is also necessary for all single Catholics to go to confession as much as possible and tell the Lord Jesus that you consecrate your life to Him, trust in Him and that you will rely on Him to guide you and protect you from that moment on. A strong prayerful life is also necessary in order to help you live a calm, happy and peaceful life. It is important to ask Our Blessed Mother every day to give you all the graces necessary for your single life and to help you by giving you holiness, purity, innocence and peace of mind, body and spirit in your life, in your job and in your home.
Evil has many conniving tactics and temptations but it is vital that single Catholics stay committed and focused on the Heavenly Father, on the Lord Jesus, on our Blessed Mother, on the saints and heavenly angels and on the right road that leads to salvation and not buckle under societal pressure to make drastic decisions that can ruin your life or cause you to commit sins against your own conscience, against the Catholic Church and against God.
There is nothing wrong with living a devoted, faithful Catholic single life because many Catholic saints were indeed single, devoted followers of Christ and of the Catholic Church. These Catholic saints continue to be models in our lives and can help us when we face troubles or problems. These Catholic saints in heaven can be our life-long friends and companions when we pray and ask them to be. Catholic saints are in heaven watching out for us and they can protect us as well whenever we ask them to help us. There are many single Catholics who are already living a consecrated single Catholic life and are accomplishing great things with their own lives, in the Catholic Church and in society. Many devoted single Catholics continue to be an inspiration for other single Catholics throughout the world. Living a single Catholic life is also mentioned in the Catholic Bible.
So, it is possible to live a very happy, peaceful and faithful life in your Catholic faith but it takes work. You need to learn to turn your life around, stay far away from all bad/evil influences and stay far away from bad/evil people, stay close to family and good, faithful friends, develop a constant prayerful life, pray the Rosary everyday for peace in the world and in your life, get rid of all of the false ideas that may be in your head which society is erroneously pushing on people, not continue to commit any mortal sins, live a committed, pure, holy and faithful single Catholic life, don't give other single Catholics immoral, bad advice, rely and trust in Jesus and on the Blessed Mother, confess your sins frequently, attend Mass (or watch it on TV if you can't attend Mass), pray to the Almighty Father, Lord Jesus and to the Blessed Mother every day for help, protection and peace and stay on the right road which leads to God and to salvation no matter what.
If you live alone and do not have any family or friends, you need to realize that you are never alone. You need to rely heavily on the Heavenly Father, on the Lord Jesus, on the Blessed Mother, on the Holy Family in Heaven, on your heavenly guardian angel, on the saints and on St. Michael the Archangel, on the heavenly army of angels, for your everyday life, job and home environment. Believe it or not, heaven has every capability to help you without whatever spiritual, physical, medical, and temporal problems you may be facing. As it says in the Bible,
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. Philippians 4:6
If you have a medical emergency, it is still imperative that you go to see a good, caring and reliable medical doctor because, even though Jesus is the Divine Physician, Our Heavenly Father has given important knowledge to medical doctors, nurses and to the medical field to cure many illnesses and diseases.
The Lord Jesus will reward those who look to Him and rely on Him for help, protection and salvation.
Psalm 91:9-16
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
