Vocation Prayer for Discernment

        God, protect me from the dangers and temptations of the world.  Keep me from choosing a path solely for my personal comfort or earthly gain.  Teach me to consult you on the direction my life should go.  You are my Father and I trust in your loving plan for my life's journey.

        Today, I want to hear your voice calling me to my true vocation.  Please send me out to do your work and let me be the light that brings others to Christ.  Give me courage when I am afraid and faith when I am doubtful, but most of all, give me your eternal love to sustain me.

        Thank you for all my gifts and talents, even the ones I have yet to use.  Help me develop them fully for your glory and the good of others.  Please bless all who will guide me to do your holy will and keep me open to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit.  I  pray for all these things in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
